Development of chemi resistive biosensors for detection of pathogens in the blood of sepsis patients
A new assay using pathogen specific camelid antibodies attached to a proprietary graphene based biosensor for specific detection of trace amount of pathogens in the blood of neonates with sepsis has been developed. For POC applications (Point of Care), a handheld device is being developed to measure the changes in the electrical properties after antigen ( pathogen) – antibody binding, the results of which will be visible within a few minutes from the initiation of the assay.
